This 2 hour online workshop will give you the basics you need to practice evidence-based yoga postures which not only build bone strength, but improve balance, strength, posture, and flexibility.
Based on Dr. Fishman’s NIH-validated research, this unique set of poses was practiced by individuals with osteoporosis in a validated study featured in the New York Times showing that yoga reversed the effects of osteoporosis/osteopenia in the spine and hips.
Laraine, who has been teaching yoga in hospitals, yoga studios, schools and gyms for over 20 years, is certified by Dr. Fishman to teach this specialized method, and offers several variations so that the postures are accessible to all.
We will also learn the yoga way of sitting, standing and bending down to prevent weakening of the bones and fractures. Learn how yoga is a remedy for osteoporosis, osteopenia and preventing bone deterioration, as it safely stresses bone without impact.
