This is an online chair based class that stimulates the heart, the brain and your sense of joy! Based on play & neuroplasticity, we will dance in our chairs, play with patterns and movement. Drawing from the Ageless Grace Brain Health fitness program, we will stimulate all 5 functions of the brain & nervous system: Strategic Planning, Memory & Recall, Analytical Thinking, Creativity & Imagination, and Kinesthetic Learning. Expect to have a sweaty good time! The last 15 minutes of the class will be a relaxing guided meditation.

Discover how you can experience greater calm and focus, improve flexibility and balance, and increase core strength and range of motion WHILE BUILDING AND MAINTAINING BONES with this specialized gentle yoga practice.

This targeted  bonebuilding yoga program, developed by Manhattan-based physiatrist Dr. Loren Fishman, has been validated by the National Institutes of Health, which concluded that it “appears to be a safe and effective means to reverse bone loss in the spine and femur” and found “qualitative evidence suggesting improved bone quality.”

This program is taught by Laraine, who has been teaching yoga in hospitals, yoga studios, schools and gyms for over 20 years, and is certified by Dr. Fishman to teach this specialized method. She offers several variations and modifications for the postures so that they are accessible, and enhances the practice with yoga breathwork, meditation, warm-up “vinyasa” flows and core exercises. Laraine provides a curated list of props (many with items around your house) to create your own private yoga studio. She also provides simple instructions to connect a larger screen to your device for an enhanced Zoom experience.

No prior yoga experience necessary.!

Thai Yoga Massage combines acupressure and massage in assisted yoga-like postures. Thai Yoga Massage is based on the flow of energy through the body. The practitioner compresses, pulls, and stretches the student's body to promote energy flow. In this form of massage therapy, a practitioner may use their hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to apply deep muscle compression, stretch deep muscles, and stretch the whole body. It's performed on a thick massage mat on the floor and the client is fully clothed. Thai Yoga Massage relieves stress, improves range of motion, and enhances flexibility. Some people also use Thai Yoga Massage to address various health issues, such as relieving tension headaches, decreasing back pain, reducing joint stiffness and pain, stimulating circulation, lymphatic drainage, and boosting energy.

Kayla Beth is a Certified Yoga Teacher 200 hour, Certified in Thai Yoga Massage and Yoga Warriors, has additional training in Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra and is a Reiki Master Teacher. Kayla’s specialty in yoga is working with individuals with anxiety, depression, insomnia, and trauma.

Kayla is appointment-based. Students should wear loose-fitting clothing and bring a water bottle.

Why Pilates? Think better posture, stronger body, improved balance and alignment and deeper breath. By integrating movement with breath, Pilates helps students walk and sit taller, more confidently and with more body awareness. Better posture results in less back pain and less chance for injury due to falls or imbalances in the body. Mind-body movement enhances neuroplasticity in the brain, which enhances brain function as we age. Add weight bearing exercise including standing, balancing, shifting plus resistance bands and weights to improve muscle tone, and you have the workings of a total body strength class.  

Why yoga?  By integrating yoga between the Pilates routine, we create a healthy flow, contrasting dynamic movement with ease and relaxation.   Exercises alternate between standing and laying or seated on the mat, and are integrated with Stott Pilates® principles to lengthen the torso, enhance cardiovascular system through systemic breath work and strengthen core muscles. Bring exercise/yoga mat and the following equipment:

During this healing circle, we will focus on healing within ourselves. When we heal within ourselves, we bring our healing to the world around us. Dedicating time to ourselves is self-care, it is an endeavor that is needed in our lives. The energy healings of Melchizedek and Reiki serve to activate the healing within our being. Energy healing reminds us of our connection to the source of all energy, to that which is greater than ourselves. During meditation and energy healing, we reconnect with our true self that is often stifled beneath layers of stress and imposed conditions.

During this Healing Circle for Self, Karen will lead both quiet and guided meditations. During a guided meditation, Karen will unite the circle in the Melchizedek Healing Method. During quiet meditation, Karen will share Reiki healing with each individual. Participants need only to be present and seated comfortably. Participants are asked to dress for their comfort. This immersive workshop is designed to help participants release energetic and emotional stagnation from the seven major energy centers of the body. Participants are encouraged to focus on each energy center as they experience the corresponding vibrational resonance. 

The workshop begins with a brief overview of the chakras, providing insight into their qualities and how they influence your well-being. It is then followed by a transformative 50+ minute sound journey, with approximately 8 minutes dedicated to each chakra.

As you focus your awareness on each energy center, Joseph will play didgeridoos tuned to the specific keys of the chakras, supported by the soothing tones of concert-pitch contemporary Himalayan singing bowls. This will create a harmonious and clearing vibrational field. The workshop concludes with an opportunity for reflection, questions, and discussion

Russian Gypsy Angel Readings ~ These cards date back as far as the early 1900’s and are based on the authentic gypsy teachings and from Russian folklore.  The cards are a mix of animal, nature and Christian symbolism.  Like all other divination cards, they have the ability to predict future events and outcomes.  The cards act like a “psychic barometer.”  For this type of reading, the angels, pendulum, angel and gypsy cards are used.  This type of reading is done via email only and is $35.

Increase positivity with your own set of handmade affirmation cards.  Affirmations are a useful tool to ease stress, develop gratitude, and build mindfulness in your daily life.  Using simple watercolor techniques, along with ink and markers, you will embark on a personal creative journey to build your own personal affirmation deck.  In this special offering you will:

·         Use simple art and painting techniques to connect with your innate source of creativity

·         Take mindful pauses for simple meditation and visualization techniques

·         Discover and create your personal affirmations, or use some provided

·         Leave with beautiful, heartfelt affirmation cards created by YOU and the skills to build your deck at home. 

This workshop is taught by Linda Snay: Linda is an artist and has an extensive background in the art of mindful and gentle yoga with certifications in Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra.

OSTEOYOGA FOR BONE HEALTH INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP (online)

Join Hatha Yoga teacher Laraine Lippincott for this two hour online workshop in which you will learn how a specific yoga practice raises bone mineral density and counteracts osteoporosis and osteopenia!

Laraine is a Certified Yoga vs. Osteoporosis instructor, a method developed by Dr. Loren Fishman to build strong bones and validated by the National Institutes of Health. She will guide you through several of Dr. Fishman’s safe, gentle and low impact postures, all osteoporosis- and osteopenia- safe. She will also teach the yoga way of sitting, standing and bending down to prevent weakening of the bones and fractures. This practice not only builds bone strength, but improves balance, posture, and flexibility, and alleviates anxiety, cultivating a calm mind.

Laraine has been teaching yoga for over 20 years, and was a Wellness Instructor at Emerson Hospital for 10 years. Most health insurance companies reimburse for this therapeutic class. No prior yoga experience necessary. This class is an excellent introduction to Laraine’s 6-week session (though not required)

A special 3-part workshop for absolute beginners!  Whether you are early in your practice or have never stepped on a yoga mat, this workshop is for you.  In this very special offering, we will break down and demystify the basics of yoga.  During this workshop, we will focus on learning the elements that make up a yoga class.  We will talk simply and there will be time for questions at each class!  In the final workshop meeting, we will bring everything you learned together into a simple gentle yoga class so you can see for yourself that you CAN do yoga! 

This workshop will introduce: 

·         The basic outline of a yoga class from centering to breathing to postures to savasana.

·         Learn the basic yoga postures you are likely to encounter in yoga classes in a workshop style.  We will break down each posture into easy to learn elements.  Questions welcome!!!

·         Learn alignment and use of props to make each pose just right for YOU. 

·         Be introduced to Yogic breathing techniques to enhance practice. 

·         Simple centering preparations and exercises to focus on building breath awareness.

Why Pilates? Think better posture, stronger body, improved balance and alignment and deeper breath. By integrating movement with breath, Pilates helps students walk and sit taller, more confidently and with more body awareness. Better posture results in less back pain and less chance for injury due to falls or imbalances in the body. Mind-body movement enhances neuroplasticity in the brain, which enhances brain function as we age. Add weight bearing exercise including standing, balancing, shifting plus resistance bands and weights to improve muscle tone, and you have the workings of a total body strength class.  

Why yoga?  By integrating yoga between the Pilates routine, we create a healthy flow, contrasting dynamic movement with ease and relaxation.   Exercises alternate between standing and laying or seated on the mat, and are integrated with Stott Pilates® principles to lengthen the torso, enhance cardiovascular system through systemic breath work and strengthen core muscles. Bring exercise/yoga mat and the following equipment:

Join us at the Sterling Street Brewery in Devens for a FUNdraiser for IridESSENCE Community Health Collaborative! Together we will Zumba our way into the weekend with some uplifting exercise to funky music and then relax and enjoy all the brewery has to offer!

Everybody and every body! Zumba® is Latin-based dance fitness. This particular Zumba® class is mostly low impact, combining low intensity and high intensity moves, and using Latin and World rhythms. Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat it out. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility.

Often, our outward responsibilities and duties can leave us depleted, stressed and disconnected from our true selves.   By shifting our focus inward through the multifaceted practice of yoga, we can move through difficulties, cultivate gratitude and reconnect with our heart of hearts.      

This combination of Slow Flow & Restorative Yoga practice will:

·         Meet you where you are, all levels are welcome.

·         Challenge you to focus on how the pose feels within.

·         Build heat and endurance.

·         Include breathing practices for calm and focus.

We'll start the evening with a guided meditation designed to clear our minds and focus our intentions for 2025. Using the potent energy of the New Moon, we'll tap into our power to manifest our desires, guiding you through reflective questions to help you clarify your vision for the year ahead.

Next, we’ll create personalized Vision Boards. Using images, pictures, and affirmations, you’ll craft a visual representation of the life you aspire to live. A Vision Board serves as a powerful tool, reminding you of your dreams, affirming "who you believe you are," and inspiring you to take meaningful action toward your goals. 

Materials, including an 11x14 inch foam board, coloring utensils, glue, and image books, will be provided. However, feel free to bring any specific images you'd like to incorporate into your board.

Stretch & De-Stress classes are for everyone. Developed by Sheila over decades of teaching, dancing, and practicing energy medicine, this unique, hour-long class promotes flexibility that resonates with our individual bodies, increasing range of movement in a gentle, highly effective way from the inside out. Using stretch and movement techniques derived from dance, Feldenkrais, breath, and somatic work synthesized with energy medicine principles and exercises, this class helps you relax and release tension and stress. By focusing deeply on individual muscles and joints, you gain an understanding of your body that will improve posture, increase flexibility, and create well-being. By the end of the class, you will feel like you have moved every part of your body and will enjoy a sense of calm, balance, and groundedness.

Yoga for Bone Health is a targeted therapeutic practice developed by Dr. Loren Fishman, MD for maintaining a healthy skeleton, strengthening posture and improving balance. This unique set of 12 poses was practiced by individuals with osteoporosis in a validated study featured in the New York Times showing that yoga reversed the effects of osteoporosis/osteopenia in the spine and hips. Laraine, who has been teaching yoga in hospitals, yoga studios, schools and gyms for over 20 years, is certified by Dr. Fishman to teach this specialized method, and offers several variations and modifications for the postures so that they are accessible to all. She also enhances the practice with yoga breathwork, meditation, and warm-up "vinyasa" flows, and has added Dr. Fishman's Series Two and Series Three postures (24 more postures). Not only will this practice strengthen your bones and physical body, but it will calm your mind, deepen your breath, and improve your posture, balance, flexibility, joint mobility and focus. For the online class, Laraine provides a curated list of props (many with items around your house) to create your own private yoga studio. She also provides simple instructions to connect a larger screen to your device for an enhanced Zoom experience. A gentle class, with no prior yoga experience necessary

Join Hatha Yoga teacher Laraine Lippincott for a free OsteoYoga class!

You will learn how yoga raises bone mineral density and counteracts osteoporosis and osteopenia. Laraine will demonstrate safe, gentle, low impact postures, all osteoporosis- and osteopenia-safe. She will also teach the yoga way of sitting, standing and bending down to prevent weakening of the bones and fractures.

Laraine is a Certified Yoga Vs. Osteoporosis instructor, a method developed by Dr. Loren Fishman to build strong bones and validated by the National Institutes of Health. This practice not only builds bone strength, but improves balance, strength, posture, and flexibility.  Laraine has been teaching Hatha Yoga for 20 years and was a Wellness instructor at Emerson Hospital for 10 years.
